History of Huntsmanship

History of Huntsmanship

In our exhibition, we can follow the development of hunting tools and methods.
Hunting was once an important source of human food. With the domestication of dogs, the capture of certain bird species, and the development of animal-assisted hunting, the importance of hunting changed over time: instead of everyday subsistence, physical exercise, practicing the use of weapons in peacetime, and then entertainment became increasingly important. At the same time, hunting became a privilege, although folk hunting methods also survived. The peak of the aristocratic lifestyle was undoubtedly hunting. However, the scene was not in the primeval forest, but in the well-kept game reserve and forest park.
Hunting later became an everyday activity and a regulated occupation. In the 19th century, the first general laws regulating hunting were enacted, and national hunting societies and associations were established. In the 21st century, hunting became an important area of game management and environmental protection.
