Courtyard Garden
Stepping out through the rear entrance of the palace, visitors arrive at the Courtyard Garden, a peaceful and welcoming space offering a relaxing retreat. At its centre stands a unique marble fountain adorned with dolphins and lion-head motifs.
This remarkable fountain was originally imported from Italy in 1922. Over the years, it underwent several restorations before being completely rebuilt in 2005 due to deterioration. The original sculptural elements are now displayed to the right of the reconstructed fountain.
The Courtyard Garden is an ideal place for a short stroll, a moment of relaxation, or a pleasant conversation. Its green surroundings, benches, and bicycle racks are all designed to enhance visitors' comfort.
As with many historic palaces, the garden provides a carefully maintained and atmospheric setting for those seeking a moment of tranquillity. Whether you are enjoying a family outing, a romantic walk, or simply taking a break while exploring the palace and the city of Hatvan, the Courtyard Garden offers a peaceful environment in which to unwind.
Bird-Friendly Garden
Since 2021, our Courtyard Garden and side gardens have held the Bird-Friendly Garden designation. As part of a programme organised by the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society, several types of artificial nest boxes, bird feeders, and bird baths have been installed throughout the grounds.
Thanks to these measures, visitors have the opportunity to observe a variety of bird species in their urban habitat and gain a closer appreciation of local wildlife.
