1. Mini Programmes (Ages 3–7)
Through movement, hands-on exploration, and playful activities, children discover the fascinating world of animals.
Available Topics
Big Game Species of Hungary
Children learn about the predators and herbivores that inhabit Hungary's forests. We discuss their diets, how to distinguish between carnivorous and herbivorous species, and how to recognize them in the wild. Using educational materials, we introduce the trophies and coats of various species.
Small Game Species of Hungary
Our museum provides young children with an excellent opportunity to become familiar with some of Hungary's best-known small game species. Through educational objects and expert guidance, participants learn what the term "small game" means and discover the animals that belong to this category.
Fish of Hungary
Located on the museum's lower level, the exhibition our wetlands and fish species presents both native and introduced fish species. Children can explore traditional and modern fishing and angling equipment while learning about aquatic habitats and wildlife.
2. Hunting Dog Programme (Ages 3–10)
Children can learn directly from a hunter about the relationship between hunters and hunting dogs and how they work together in the field.
Minimum group size: 20 participants
Programme fee: HUF 1,000 per participant
3. Along the Forest Trails (Ages 6–10)
Participants follow animal tracks and signs while learning about the wildlife species of Hungary's forests.
4. The Many Faces of the Carpathian Basin (Ages 8–14)
Travelling from the lowland plains to the high mountain ranges of the Carpathian Basin, participants discover the different habitats of the region and learn how living organisms adapt to their environment.
5. In the World of István Fekete (Ages 10–14)
István Fekete is one of Hungary's most renowned and widely read authors of youth and animal literature. During a visit to the memorial room, participants learn about his life, literary work, and his deep appreciation of nature and wildlife.
6. Following in the Footsteps of Zsigmond Széchenyi (Ages 10–14)
As the museum's namesake, Count Zsigmond Széchenyi holds a special place in our institution. This programme introduces children to his life, achievements, and legacy.
